We had a great guide in Graeme and he was tolerant, very patient, full of energy and kept a close watch on what was going on. He was well informed about the areas we walked. It was a pleasure to be in his company. The walk was challenging and tough going at times, especially the Lake District but also the long days in the Yorkshire Dales. We were the most fortunate group having only 1 day of drizzle most of the day on the 26 mile day only - remarkable for England. I would recommend having a rest day around the half way point as walking every day can be very hard. Fitness and stamina are essential elements on this walk. The accommodation was comfortable and clean and hosts very welcoming. Only one hotel smelt damp and was on the dirty side. We had a great bunch of 11 people who were supportive, interesting and helpful. We had some great breakfasts and were able to either eat at the hotel or elsewhere easily. I would certainly recommend doing the Coast to Coast to friends. The organisation was professional and helpful.
I did the EC tour and our tour leader was Antonio And Ishti. These guys rock and are experts with what they do. I am so thankful for the amount of effort they have made to make sure every cent we paid was worth it. Antonio always makes an extra mile to make sure his clients are safe and happy. Ishti was very professional and made sure everyone is always safe. I can't thank them enough for making our trip so memorable. It is my first time to go on a group tour and I am worried Antonio set the bar so high it won't be as fun if I was going to book another tour. All I can say is thank you for making our dream come true.
This is an excellent tour in many ways. You see a lot in a short amount of time, which was perfect for us. It's a great value for the price. Our tour leader was fabulous -- she couldn't have been more helpful, charming, fun, attentive, and knowledgeable. We would take another tour just to be with her. But it was a strenuous tour for us. We were cautioned that it would be, and we're still very glad we did it -- but there is a lot of walking, and for anyone over 70 (as we are), it's a challenge. Fast-paced schedule, toting luggage to and from the bus, in and out of hotels. The hotels are all very nice with excellent food. Some rooms were small, and in one we had a long way to walk with our luggage. But we loved seeing everything we stopped for -- great choices. Traffic going into Cardiff made us late so we didn't get much time to explore. Nice to have a toilet on the bus, although we stopped every 2-3 hours at very nice highway stations. The bus was full with 51 of us and there's not much room between the seats. Only when we got stuck in traffic or a few long drives did it get a little uncomfortable to sit. It was relaxing to drive throough the countryside and enjoy the scenery. Everyone on our trip was very pleasant and helpful -- we had a lovely variety of travel companions and made several close friends. All and all, I would gladly do this tour again -- to see a lot of England, Scotland, and Wales in a week -- especially if my husband and I were 10 years younger! For anyone under 70 in good health and fitness, I'd give this tour a 5-star recommendation.
