This was an excellent tour with super, friendly guides/driver and a sight to behold. It was worth spending the extra money to get a luxury coach too - more leg room and general comfort with less passengers. We were picked up from our location on time (BSi Bus Terminal). We stopped at one location, saw subtle evidence of the lights after about an hour and then got driven to another area close by where the magic unfolded. Spectacular "dancing" aurora! Hot chocolate, prosecco/water and a special Icelandic doughnut with smoked fish was also provided. The guide took pictures which she plans to email to everyone, so don't worry if you don't have a decent camera. Well worth it, the best tour so far!!

Iceland in March is a challenge.....ice and snow underfoot (boot chains provided!) high winds, intermittent torrential rain, bad road conditions. But the beauty of the country more than makes up for any discomfort. Travelling around the whole island, the scenery is constantly changing....wild coasts, snowy mountains, sparkling fjords, black lava flows and of course, wonderful waterfalls. For any lover of the great outdoors, this trip is a must

When asked what my favourite part of the trip was this was my response soon after I returned ...."Mine...the spontaneous stop off to chill by the glacial pool in falling light - to capture the sunset en route to the hostel ...we saw the Northern lights - so chuffed - Vik, Whow! - homemade tomato soup on the spot where they were grown - all the food. Oh and I missed the pictures of Gulfoss in the books, so imagine my face when I walked to the edge of the path!! Snow, muted crashing rollers on a lava beach, ice, sun -such feast for the senses...then lastly the feel of the lava between the toes in the blue lagoon. Still pinching myself.
