My name is Andrés Úlfur and I was born and raised in Iceland, although I have been very fortunate to have traveled a lot and lived abroad for many years throughout my life, experiencing and learning about different countries and cultures in different parts of our planet. I graduated as a cultural anthropologist from Hunter College in NY, and I have a great passion for nature, people, and local cultures and photography. I am also the founder and owner of a travel company focusing on nature and experiences in Iceland. I believe that passion and respect for our surroundings are vital in understanding not only our local nature and culture but also in understanding other people's cultures and their perspectives of life; a very important part of all traveling and sharing and enjoying together on our island of fire and ice.

Ever since I can remember, nature and exploration have been my playground. I grew up in a small town surrounded by landscapes that evoked the mystique of the North, instilling in me a deep respect and love for wild environments. My interest in adventure travel began in my teens when I discovered ice climbing and ski touring. The thrill of overcoming physical challenges in cold climates and immersing myself in Sámi or Icelandic culture captivated me instantly. What truly motivates me is the profound connection established with Arctic environments and people on every journey. There's nothing like the satisfaction of guiding someone through a transformative experience under the Aurora Borealis or in a Norwegian fjord, seeing their eyes open to new possibilities and pushing their own limits. For me, travel is about learning, growing, and, above all, living life to the fullest.

My nomadic lifestyle instilled in me a deep appreciation for culture, nature and the richness of human experiences. As I traversed different landscapes, I developed a profound love for travel and a longing to immerse myself in the beauty of each new destination. After living and working in many different places, I now live in the beautiful Westfjords. The rugged fjords, untouched landscapes and welcoming community captivated my heart, making it my home. Here, I found the perfect blend of serenity and adventure, inspiring me to share this magical place with others. When planning trips, I believe that it is important for travelers to have an authentic experience of Iceland and spend some time in nature. Guided by the belief that travel should be more than just ticking off tourist spots, I encourage travelers to seek authenticity and spending time in its unspoiled nature.
