As a senior I found the two longer mileage days a bit of a challenge but overall it was a great walking holiday. The hotels and the food were excellent. I especially enjoyed the boat trip, as well as walking the final three days to Santiago, like real pilgrims. The medieval border town of Tui was fascinating. I loved the stone and water route on Day 6. Sadly we had to walk the last 5 miles to Santiago in the rain, which was disappointing. The scenery was varied along the way although I found some sections alongside the road tedious.

A varied selection of walks around the island. 3 out of 4 hotels were excellent - the second one was a bit dark and cold. Length of walks were good - about 7 miles. Pace for me was a bit slow. One of the walks (high up near the tops) was frustrating as there was no view over the hedges. The replacement walk as the highest peak was closed was in fact my favourite (on the Friday)

Perfect walking holiday in Madeira. This was my first walking holiday, first group holiday and first loan trip. I wouldn't have changed anything. Andrej, our guide was fantastic. He showed of the island with 5 different walks that showed of everything Madeira has to offer.
