Fantastic trip in a beautiful part of Portugal Fantastic trip in Porto and the Douro valley. Varied walks....every day a different type of walk and scenery, and numerous wine and port tastings.....whats not to love!Theres a good mix of walking, and sight seeing....nothing too strenuous. For those of a certain age....a visit to The Mateus Palace, where the infamous Mateus Ros used to be produced, was fun....the palace is featured on the label of the wine....Accommodation is in 4/5* hotels.....some better than others....but plenty of free time to relax or explore the area. Highly recommend.
We recently visited Madeira for a walking holiday. Everything from transfers and accommodation to the interactive mapping app showing the routes for our daily walks was excellent. The walks themselves were easy to moderate grade and combined places of interest with trails alongside lavadas, taking us through a variety of beautiful plants and vegetation. The bonus at the end of the trip was a night in a fantastic small boutique hotel downtown Funchal.
well-organised and relaxing walking trip This holiday provided straightforward walking in exceptional and sometimes unusual scenery in great company and with an experienced and characterful guide. It was exactly what we were looking for in a short break from the British winter. The accommodation was excellent and the whole trip was well organised, and good value. Everyone involved that we met (eg hotel staff, transfer vehicle drivers etc) were without exception helpful and friendly. We found the holiday relaxing and rewarding.
