Scenic and peaceful with wonderful food Great ride. Most is on mostly flat, well maintained, paved bike paths, with little riding on roads. Going in late October meant that when we were on roads they were almost traffic-free and the lovely coastal villages and beaches en route were tourist-free. This summer Portugal experienced many forest fires and a day of cycling through charred forests was unavoidable. It was interesting to see, first-hand, the unfortunate devastation that we had all read about in the news. Regeneration will begin quickly, I'm sure. Marco was an excellent guide and we were fortunate to learn a lot as a result of his excellent knowledge of the history of Portugal. The picnic lunches were a highlight, the group was great and I had a wonderful holiday.
Incredible Day Trip in Lisbon Ricardo was amazing...we only had one day in Lisbon due to travel issues and he picked us up at 6am, took us to Fatima and then through Lisbon for the day. He was the perfect balance of historical expert, story teller and he clearly loves his country. We would definitely use this company again when we come back to this beautiful country.
We travelled the Camino from Lisbon to Porto on bicycles on their self guided tour. Online tracks were provided for each daily section of the Camino we travelled, luggage transferred to the next prearranged hotel. All we carried was whatever we required for the day, food, water, rain gear. Overall the hotels met our expectations, some days the tracks were hard to ride and we needed to unload and push our bikes through the difficult sections. Nothing insurmountable, so some character building along the way. It was a memorable trip.
