The food, views, and people of Costa Rica were amazing. G-adventures made this vacation easy going with the lodging and transportation. I had a great time hearing life stories from the others in my group as well as sharing my own. I didn?t think I?d like the group travel setting but it was honestly the best route to go. You could go off and do your own thing or you could join in on the group fun, whatever suits you the best. Costa Rica is beautiful and I?m sure G-adventures picked out some of the best spots to go!
Overall very good, plenty of wildlife to see and local people very friendly. Disappointed with dynamics of group as although 16 of us 14 were one group so felt like outsiders, they were also a lot older than us so on occasion with specific options for treks and ability we were out voted. Some of the accommodation was very basic no hot or running water for two days at Cahuita and the food was hit and miss. The breakdown of days at different hotels could have been better, spending one night at Florencia arrived in the dark and departed very early so unable to use the facilities, could have arrived a day earlier or at least earlier in the day so could use facilities but rest of group wanted a later start again we were outvoted.
I read up quite a lot about the trek in advance, but was still surprised! It's quite challenging, though definitely doable. The views were also better than we could ever have expected. Bamba was an amazing tour company, they really took care of us and went above and beyond to make sure we had eveyrthing we needed. Just fantastic.
