This trek has everything from fantastic views through to some hard climbs and strenuous days. However, if you can do Everest base camp and Kilimanjaro you can certainly cope with this trek although you have to respect the altitude just as with the other trips. There is a good blend of other activities (particularly Cusco) with the trek, the high point (literally) of which is getting to the top of Dead Woman's Pass and arriving at the Sun Gate
I thought this was such an amazing and great trip. Everything ran very smoothly and organized. Our porters (porter group #4) were absolutely tremendous in terms of setting up our campsite and making sure every need or request we had was promptly attended to. I really can't say enough good things about our porter group on this trip they were absolutely amazing. Also, our chefs (Orlando and Esteban) were amazing. The food was soooooo good!! They even cooked a cake for us on day 3 of our trek, none of our group could believe it. I was constantly amazed by how good the food was thanks to our chefs. Also, our guides (Elias and Edson) were wonderful and did a great job looking after everyone and keeping us all safe and organized and on track with our itinerary. I always felt safe with Elias and Edson, and they both did a great job explaining to use a lot about all the Incan history on the trail.
The holiday was an amazing experience from start to finish. The guide was excellent and the trip was exactly as described - perhaps even undersold. The guide provided lots of tours/hikes which were additional to the ininerary and very enjoyable. We saw an extremely wide variety of animals and birds in their natural environments. The group we were travelling with was great and we had a good time together.
