Honest insights from past guests on our Germany tours

Susan S. | Traveled in September

I wish we had two days in Dresden. Otherwise, we loved the hotels and cities we stayed in. I felt rushed to choose optional tours on the bus the first day, and didn't like feeling pressured to select them all. Unfortunately, we didn't choose the Linderhof Palace option, unaware that it was on our tour route, and there wouldn't be anything else to do at that site, so we spent the morning in the gift shop. I genuinely believe this stop should be added to the trip itinerary. Carl was a fantastic tour guide, although he got into world economics more than I'd like on vacation. I researched several German tours, enjoyed the diversity this one offered, and was not disappointed.

We recently had the pleasure of traveling with Europamondo, and we are beyond impressed with the entire experience. Everything was so well organized — from the smooth travel arrangements to the excellent hotels chosen, which made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Our guide was absolutely outstanding, professional, and always ready to help, making the journey not only easy but also enriching especially Kareem and Mustafa. The entire trip exceeded our expectations, and we truly appreciated the care and quality that went into every detail. We will definitely travel again with Europamondo and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a seamless and memorable travel experience.

Our tour guide Robert was probably the most knowledgeable person I have ever met. He was attentive to all our needs and went out his way to make sure had the best experience. The added excursions were well worth the money. And the views are amazing.

We saw places Ive only seen on /TV, our Director had a full itinerary each day, It was never a boring trip, and just when we thought we saw it all, another beautiful scenery appears. Our bus driver Chris was the best we"ve ever had, so professional and he could back-up that big bus like he was driving a Yugo... Rob knows so much about the countries we visited, I felt I was in a history class, he was very informative.

It's a great tour which covers all the main cities of Germany so it gives you a great overview of the country - just what the name of the tour suggests. We had a great tour guide, Larae, and a wonderful bus driver, Attila. The coach was very comfortable as were the hotels we stayed at. The dinners organized were a wonderful experience and overall there wasn't anything else we could have asked for.

Travel Tips

  • Germany has some great public transportation. Buses, trains and trams are reliable and generally inexpensive, but make sure you validate your tickets to avoid getting slapped with a huge fine.
  • Public bathrooms in Germany tend to cost money. Always carry some coin with you and expect to pay around 30 euro cents to use the toilet - even in a chain restaurant.
  • Germans are very formal and reserved. They expect punctuality and politeness, and it is always advised to address them using their formal titles like Herr and Frau during your holiday in Germany.
  • Trying one German sausage is simply not enough! Most German cities, like Nuremberg and Frankfurt, have their own types of sausage - be sure to try them all.
  • Sundays are for relaxing in Germany. Be prepared for most grocery stores and other shops to be closed.
  • ‘Sparkling’ (carbonated) water is far more popular in Germany than still water. It’s an acquired taste, so be sure to make the distinction when ordering at a restaurant.
