Greenland Tours — Highlights and Travel Tips

Tour Highlights

  • Experience the colossal beauty of Ilulissat, the city of Icebergs
  • Ride through the snow-covered hills aboard a sled pulled by dogs
  • Learn about the Inuit culture from Greenland’s locals
  • Meet some nordic wildlife, from humpback whales and walruses to polar bears and reindeer

Travel Tips

  • There are only two airlines that fly into Greenland, and finding budget flights might not be possible. Air Greenland is your best bet, while the only other option is to fly via Icelandic airlines from Reykjavik, Iceland.
  • The only way to travel from city to city is by plane - specifically, the country’s small Dash-8-200 airplanes that seat 37 passengers at a time.
  • Be sure to pack warm clothing. It is worth investing in thermal wear, along with a warm wind-proof coat and some fleece jackets.
  • The sun is very strong in Greenland, so be sure to bring some sunglasses with high protection and sunscreen with a strong SPF.
  • This is not the kind of holiday where you want to leave things up to chance. Tourism infrastructure is limited, so book your flights and hotels in advance. Consider investing in travel insurance as tours can be canceled due to weather.
